250W DC/DC Converter

The
Syscal R2 or
Elrec T can be used with an
external Direct Current (DC) power supply such as the
250W DC/DC Converter to inject energy into the ground.
Description:
The unit can be supplied by a 10 to
20V DC voltage source, for example a standard 12V car
battery. It is protected against polarity inversion of
input voltage and will stop operating when input
voltages are greater than 20V.
Four output voltages (100V, 200V,
400V, 800V) can be selected through a manual switch. The
maximum power available on each position is 250W,
corresponding respectively to maximum intensities of
2500, 1250, 625 and 312mA.
The Converter has an internal
warning signal to warn when the battery voltage is lower
than 10V. When the input voltage is lower than 7.5V,
beeping is continuous but the converter still provides a
voltage. When the voltage is lower than 5V, the
converter can not operate.
For each voltage position, two
operating zones can be distinguished.
-
For higher load resistance, the
unit operates as a voltage regulated supply, and the
intensity of current is determined by the relation I
= U / R;
-
For lower load resistance, the
unit operates as an intensity regulated supply: the
intensity of current is constant, whatever the
resistance is, even in the short circuit case.
The intersection of both previous
operating zones corresponds to the maximum output power
of the unit (250W)
